FIFA Laws of the Game

The FIFA Laws of the Game were developed to govern the specifics of match play in an effort to create consistency throughout the sanctioned soccer world. For example, these laws define what a free kick is, what offside is, or the rules for taking a kick from the penalty mark. FIFA has developed and maintains these Laws on a yearly basis. In some cases, there may be an overlap between the WYSA Rules and Regulations and the FIFA Laws of the Game so it is important to be familiar with both, especially as one may supersede the other.

The Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association (WYSA) was created in 1982 to coordinate the operation of youth soccer within the City of Winnipeg and its surrounding areas. Through the assistance of its member organizations, WYSA has created and operates league structures for participants aged 9 to 18. WYSA currently operates a U9 - U18 Recreational League, U9 - U12 Developmental League, U13 - U17 Premier League, and an Indoor High School Soccer League. Additionally, WYSA offers other events every year such as the Boston Pizza Player's Tournament and the Golden Boy Indoor Soccer Tournament, along with the Mobile Mini Soccer Program.
