WYSA SCHOLARSHIP
Investing in the Future of Our Athletes
The Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association is proud to support the continued success of our athletes both on and off the field through the WYSA Scholarship Program.
Each year, WYSA awards two scholarships valued at $1,500 each, one to an athlete participating in a female division and one participating in a male division, to assist with post-secondary education. The scholarship recognizes student-athletes who have demonstrated excellence not only in academics, but also through their commitment to soccer, leadership, volunteerism, and positive contributions to their communities.
Who Can Apply?
The WYSA Scholarship is open to eligible student-athletes who have demonstrated a long-term commitment to youth soccer within the Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association. Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the scholarship application, including academic enrollment requirements and a minimum of three years of participation within WYSA.
What Does the Selection Committee Look For?
The scholarship is designed to recognize well-rounded individuals who exemplify the values of youth sport.
Applications are evaluated based on several factors, including:
- Academic achievement
- Soccer participation and commitment
- Leadership and character
- Volunteer and community involvement
- Contributions to the game of soccer through playing, coaching, refereeing, and/or administration
- Personal goals and future educational aspirations
Application Requirements
Applicants are required to submit a completed scholarship application along with supporting documentation, including:
- Proof of post-secondary enrollment
- Academic transcripts
- Reference letters
- A personal essay outlining their soccer journey, community involvement, academic accomplishments, and future goals.
Application Deadline
Completed applications must be submitted to the Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association by September 28, 2026.
